This is a free workshop celebrating Black History month in Newham. Through this workshop we will explore themes of memory, touching on displacement, memory, trauma, belonging and home.
We welcome you to bring photos, books, writing and drawings along to this workshop. Anything that evokes a sense of belonging, home and nostalgia, good or bad, you chose.
We will be choping, drawing and writing to create a collage of your own memories which we will then scan and acetone this onto paper that will be used to take a 3D body mould capturing our bodies as an archive.
These moulds will then dry with the printed images/words for you to keep or donate to the Alice Billings Programme for future exhibitions.
11:00 - 14:00 (with a break for lunch)
